Uludağ Textile Exporters Association (UTİB) carried out the first procurement committee within the scope of the “Ecological Textiles UR-GE Project” carried out with the support of the Ministry of Trade within the framework of Communiqué No. 2010/8 on Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness. 11 cluster companies were brought together with the buyer delegation from foreign countries. Domestic cluster companies and buyer delegation companies participated in B2B bilateral business meetings. Firms showed great interest in the bilateral business meetings held on May 17-18.

 

Stating that the companies in the Ecological Textiles UR-GE Project cluster are divided into two groups home textiles and clothing fabrics, and in this context, they decided to carry out an activity focused on the home textile sector for the procurement committee, UTİB Chairman of the Board Pınar Taşdelen Engin said, “Increasing the exports of our member companies, We organized the procurement committee, which aims to find new markets, promote our country economically and commercially, and enable foreign buyer companies to make purchases from Turkey, on May 17-18 in Istanbul. 11 of our cluster member companies were brought together with buyers from abroad. We received positive reflections from the B2B bilateral business meetings,” she said.

 

Stating that the textile industry is one of the most fundamental and powerful industrial groups in our country, UTİB Chairman of the Board Pınar Taşdelen Engin said, “Today, when it comes to clothing fabrics and home textiles, Turkey is one of the first countries that come to mind in the world market. If we look at the point we have reached, our country’s industrialists now have the power to offer high quality in all areas from production to promotion, from quality to marketing. Turkey has increased its competitive power with better quality and different products based on innovation compared to its competitors.
